The Øya Festival release second 7”
The Øya Festival release their second 7” available exclusively at Rough Trade and at London shows. Featured artists Young Dreams and Razika perform two nights in London at The Lexington on Thursday 23rd February and Koko’s Club NME on Friday 24th February.
Following the huge success of their inaugural release featuring Lucy Swann and Team Me in 2011, Norway’s leading festival Øya are set to release their second split-single 7″ in association with Music Export Norway and Rough Trade. In celebration of this exciting new release, featured Norwegian bands Young Dreams and Razika will perform at two exclusive London shows.
The first night on Thursday 23rd February takes place at The Lexington, which is also the home of the Nordic club night Ja Ja Ja. Hosted in association with music site Rockfeedback, there will be additional support from Citizens! Friday’s show the following day takes place at the established Club NME night at KOKO in Camden and features support from Australian band Bleeding Knees Club.
Featuring a track by Razika titled ‘Above All’ and an eponymous track by Young Dreams, the 7” vinyl will be sold exclusively through Rough Trade and by the bands at their London gigs.
Four piece Girl band Razika www.myspace.com/razika have been one of the great, young pop-successes of the past year in their native Norway. Their debut album ‘Program 91’ received great praise from critics and record buyers alike, having created their own unique style fusing ska, indie and new wave.
Young Dreams www.youngdreams.no are comprised of musicians from a variety of Norway’s finest pop and rock bands. As Young Dreams, they make melodic music inspired by everything from acid rock to symphonic pop and are set to release the debut album later this year.
