Sudan Dudan

Sudan Dudan are Marit Karlberg and Anders Røine. They started their collaboration in 2004, and they are experimenting with the borders of Norwegian folk music. They debuted in 2006 and followed with the second album Kari og Ola in 2010.

Sudan Dudan have set new standards for the use of song and string instruments, and also arrangements that remind you of music far from the nordic traditions. You can hear elements of American mountain music and African desert blues in their free approach to music.

After playing several gigs around Norway, their reputation as a live band has grown and become bigger and stronger. Their melancholic expression is now reaching bigger audiences and a lot of people will be able to discover Sudan Dudan for the first time at Øya this year.
