Pony the Pirate has wind in the sails these days. National radio channel P3 is giving them a heck of a lot of airtime, they’ve won the annual Urørt [“Unsigned”] award and are right now on a four-week Zoom/Urørt tour across the nation together with Enorma Sass.

These pirates from the Norwegian city of Mandal have filled their treasure chest with danceable pop, Canadian indie and catchy refrains. Live, the seven-man-strong (including three ladies) crew comes across as a wickedly tight unit where everyone sings backing vocals – regardless of whether they have a mike or not!

Their performance at Rockefeller during the by:Larm convention displayed a fresh and debuting act that already at this point is ready for the larger venues. “Stadium indie,” we read in a review just the other day – not at all a bad description of Pony the Pirate!
