THE LITTLE HANDS OF ASPHALT
Wednesday
The Little Hands of Asphalt is the band of Sjur Lyseid, whom over the past few years has frequented Norwegian venues in acts like Monzano and LoFiMan. The debut album Leap Years contains splendid indie pop sprinkled with elements from country and folk. Leap Years brims with great tunes and solid lyrics. Assisting on the album are also members from both Beezewax and My Little Pony. Norwegian music TV show Lydverket fell in love with the album and stated, among other things, that: “There are few Norwegian artists these days that have such a genuinely great pop sound as The Little Hands of Asphalt, and Leap Years is a prime example of classic singer/songwriting with a suitably modern and wary approach.” Lyseid has of course put together a live ensemble that is more than capable of performing these pop tidbits at venues small and large. The Little Hands of Asphalt is an act that there’s every reason to follow closely in the years to come. Why not get started at Øya? In the Medieval Park you’ll get the chance to see an act that is the musical equivalent of a light breeze on a hot summer day.
