The Night Marchers due to rock Øya

This winter we heard rumors that three quarters of Hot Snakes had formed a new band. After a bit of searching on the net we found the MySpace page of The Night Marchers, and we were no less than utterly thrilled about this wicked party rock from San Diego. On April 21 their debut album, ‘See You in Magic’, will be out on guitarist and singer John “Speedo” Reis’ own Swami Records. On it are thirteen tracks of out-of-control, pedal to the metal, punk-energized rock’n’roll. In other words, this is sweaty and catchy rock of the finest brand. The songs are brewed on ingredients like Flamin’ Groovies, Bo Diddley, and other classic forms of party riffin’. These boys make us wanna buy a new pair of dancin’ shoes, put them on fire, and dance till there’s nothin’ but ashes left.
Come springtime, you might become infected this wicked rock’n’roll-o-mania yourselves. The last time Speedo, Gar Wood, and Jason Kourkounis played at Øya, they did it as a part of the awesome ensemble Hot Snakes. That appearance was to become their second last ever. Now, these three boys, with backgrounds in Rocket From The Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Sultans, Mule, Delta 72, Bardo Pond, and Beehive & The Barracudas, have joined forces with Tommy Kitsos from CPC Gangbangs. The ambience is somewhat similar to Speedo’s cheerful punk rock back in the good ol’ Rocket From The Crypt Days. At SXSW they didn’t save up their energy for a rainy day, but rather set out to play a handful of high-voltage gigs. We simply couldn’t refrain from booking these solid suppliers of wicked rock’n’roll.
