Exclusive Lindstrøm performance at Øya
Wednesday bill complete
Day Passes for all days still available

The electronic segment of the Øya bill has over the past few months grown quite big, and now we have yet another exclusive addition. Lindstrøm himself will be pleasing the crowd with fresh material on the first day in the Medieval Park. This will be his only performance in Norway this time around.

The Wednesday bill is now complete. We’ll be spending a few days adjusting on-stage times and placements, but the list below is the complete line-up for Wednesday Aug. 6.

Day Passes for Wednesday and all other days are still available. If you’ve heard rumors that the festival is sold out, these are incorrect. You still have the chance to catch a lot of wicked gigs in the Medieval Park and at the Nighttime Øya events.

WEDNESDAY AUG. 6
Grinderman / Kaizers Orchestra (N) / Iron & Wine (US) / Ane Brun (N) / Mayhem (N) / Mogwai (UK) / Lindstrøm (N) / Ida Maria (N) / Jose Gonzalez (SE) / Kung Fu Girls (N) / Girl Talk (US) / Keep Of Kalessin (N) / Lykke Li (SE) / Los Campesinos! (UK) / The Sword (US) / Truls & The Trees (N) / Sigh & Explode (N) / Gerilja (N) / The Mae Shi (US)

LINDSTRØM (N)
The Øya audience is not unfamiliar with Hans-Petter Lindstrøm. You might have seen him perform together with Prins Thomas in the Medieval Park. Now he’ll make a solo performance on Wednesday Aug. 6. This will be the only Lindstrøm concert in Norway this year. Here you’ll get to hear material from the album ‘Where You Go, I’ll Go To’, which will be out on quality label Smalltown Supersound right after the festival, on August 18.

In cooperation with the aforementioned Prins Thomas he released the highly acclaimed album ‘Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas’ in 2005. He has remixed international acts like Franz Ferdinand and LCD Soundsystem. In addition he has a few solo releases on his conscience, as well as some material under the name SlowSupreme. Lindstrøm’s music has been dubbed “contemporary disco” and “space disco”. Either way, we’re talking original and entertaining dance music. It might come as a surprise to some, but he has been a passionate fan of both Deep Purple and Bob Dylan. No wonder his songs sound quite different from everything else in the world of electronica. Don’t miss out on his performance on the first day of the festival!

Knallbra! Jeg håpet på litt forsterkninger også på elektronikasiden, og det har dere nå absolutt innfridd. Thanx!

Jeg ser dere har line-up mht hvem som skal spille på onsdag, men når kommer dere med tids- og sceneplan?
