Telepathe to replace El Guincho
The hip Brooklyn chicks in Telepathe will be replacing the burnt out Spanish artist El Guincho on Friday Aug. 8. Earlier this week he reported that he’s tired, and we’ve now received the sad news that he will not be coming to the Øya Festival.
TELEPATHE (US)
Brooklyn-band Telepathe consists mainly of Busy Gangnes and Melissa Livaudais. The two girls have a background in New York’s underground, modern dance, and yoga. Lately, Telepathe has also teamed up with other musicians. They have been compared to Animal Collective and CocoRosie, and have recorded with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek and Don Caballero’s Eric Emm as producers. Telepathe move in a kind of electronic/organic musical landscape, in which they manage to create weird and at times danceable tunes. So far, they’ve released the EP ‘Farewell Frost’. Telepathe are ready to present the songs from this recording – and a few more – for the audience at the Odden stage. Get ready for a weird, hip, and powerful New York sound.

Synd.
